Hydraulic Regimation Interventions in Pre-Alpine Streams - Province of Como
As part of its design and works management activities, our company is engaged in the implementation of major hydraulic and hydraulic-forestry regulation works in the streams of the pre-alpine districts of the Province of Como, particularly in the municipalities most affected by the floods of the summer of 2021.
Such weather events, characterised by sudden and exceptionally intense rainfall, are increasingly frequent manifestations of the ongoing climate change. The increasing variability and violence of atmospheric phenomena now requires a decisive technical and infrastructural response, aimed at protecting the safety of the territory, infrastructure and local communities.
The projects we have developed, which are being implemented thanks to PNRR and regional funding, involve complex and integrated structural interventions, including:
- Selective weirs for retaining floating material and woody debris;
- Stabilising weirs for erosion control and consolidation of riverbeds;
- Cyclopean boulder embankments and gabion walls for containment and bank protection;
- Compensation basins for flood lamination and reduction of hydraulic risk downstream;
- Recalibration and widening of road subways, to adjust runoff sections;
- Removal and adaptation of interfering technological sub-services, to improve riverbed continuity and reduce structural criticalities.
The approach adopted combines hydraulic engineering with environmental and forestry enhancement, with the aim of strengthening the resilience of the territory and promoting a sustainable management model for the mountain hydrographic network.
Aqueducts, sewers and plumbing systems
Delta specialises in hydraulic engineering and the design and construction supervision of drinking water and water treatment infrastructures. We coordinate each design, administrative and site management phase, guaranteeing an integrated and complete approach.
We offer consultancy, design and verification services for hydraulic networks managed by public and private entities, dealing with:
